Gone Fishing

Sometimes its time to kick back and take the old boat out and head out on the water and cast one's line to see what one can catch. Here is a pretty good "catch" that I made of an old boat shed at New Denver looking out to a tranquil Slocan Lake on a late September day earlier this year. This image was made with my 4 x 5 view camera and 120 mm lens.

Certainly evokes that sense of gone fishin'. Beautiful photo, gary!

It is hard to come up with an accolade that does justice to my reaction to this image (which is just stellar). It evokes a mysterious, slightly meloncholy, siren call of beckoning and longing. There is somethign about it that makes me just want to look, and look, and ponder and dream, and look. Very, very nice indeed.

Thanks, Lolly !

Andrew, Yes when taking the picture, I just wanted to stay there and look and look ponder and dream, but the road was beckoning and I had to move on.

I notice you use the 120mm lens a lot -- I myself have the 150mm lens as my 'normal'.

Do you see a big difference between the two? It seems yours is just a tad wider but I wonder if there's an appreciable difference?
