The Beaver Pond

Here is a nice little tranquil little spot right beside British Columbia's highway 3 in Manning Provincial Park, the beaver pond is a quiet little spot to pull over and stretch your legs and take a break from driving, its also a great spot to grab your camera as you might even see a beaver. I made the image with my 4 x 5 view camera and a 270mm lens a couple of weeks ago while on a Canada Day road trip through southern B.C.

I like the mountain photos a great deal, but growing up in the flat U.S. upper midwest I don't have much of a connection with such grand landscapes. This photo, though, speaks to me. I especially like how, through purpose or happenstance, you place the middle three tree trunks in line with the live evergreens in the background.
