Happy Canada Day !

Canada is 140 years old on July 1st and here is my visual ode to the beautiful country of Canada that I call home, here is an image of what I think is an icon of the Canadian wilderness, Moraine Lake in Banff National Park. I made the photograph in 1991, shortly after having bought my 8 x 10 view camera.

Beautiful shot. I have to say that I have never even seen an 8x10 negative. Even the negative must be quite a site to behold...particularly a color positive where shades and colors are not reversed.

Thanks, Howard. I mostly shoot black and white 8 x 10 ( when I can afford it ) and I have only shot a few color positives, I think they are really something to look at especially the amount of detail in the image. The image on the camera's viewing screen is also something to see , the one I have on my Tachihara is quite bright, sometimes its fun to just look at the "live view" of the image even though its upside down and backwards with out taking a picture !

would it be too much to say this shot is getting close to Ansel Adams? at least on the screen it is indeed!!! it must be realy exciting shooting large format. I would try it if I only had time for that... maybe laterht
