Wave after Wave

This is an image I made quite recently at Port Renfrew on Vancouver Island back in early January of this year. The Island and other parts of the Westcoast of BC and Washington State was hit with wave after wave of storms, some quite powerful with many places with out power for several days. On this day that I made this image, the weather looked promising, but as I was setting up my Tachihara 4 x 5 with a 120mm lens, hoping to capture this tangled mess of driftwood, I could see a rain squall headed my way, I had just enough time to make the picture and re-pack my equipment before the rain started.

Gary, you've captured the event beautifully. I like the effect of the stormclouds over the mountains and the crashing sea. I'm not too sure about the messy bits in the front...!

Thanks for the comment Janina, I don't mind the messy bits in front, thats the fun stuff that you get to pick through when the tide has gone out, the ulitmate prize is to find a glass ball !

Good luck, I hope you find one! I'm all for Nature and what she gives us in the way of little treasures to find. *g*

Yes, I know, Gary (humour, mate)! In fact, it isn't the messy bits that concern me, it's the messy branches in the picture that I think don't add to the image. I think if you'd moved a little more to the left, then, well...who knows, but I appreciate that it had started to rain and you didn't want to get your camera wet, blah blah, blah. Hope you don't mind my saying so. See ya! :O]
