Steel Like Kelp

I found this kelp all bunched left by the out going tide at Long Beach in Pacific Rim National Park in 1990, when I shot the image the kelp was quite wet which gave it a metallic look, which looked like rolled up steel pipe or something of that nature.

This is an excellent image, Gary. There is a mystique to the overall image (i.e. what/where is it?), there is plenty of detail to keep the eye busy, and the general composition is comfortable. Well done.

Living near the geographic center of North America, I had to research kelp so that I knew what I was looking at. For a prairie dweller such as myself, that image holds a lot of mystique. Steel bars? Snakes? Worms? Kelp? (well, I would have asked that IF I knew what kelp was)

There's a lot for the eye to ponder in that image. Very nice.
