This is the start of a series of about 30 images that I made at Sooke Marine Industries, I had heard about this place from my brother, Ron who lives out in Sooke, he though it would be a interesting place to photograph, so I went out there and met with the owner, legendary Sooke resident, Maywell Wickheim who graciously allowed me to explore the place with my camera. Sooke Marine Industries was built in the 1960's and in its heyday a busy and active shipyard back up until the 1990's with more than 20 employees. From what I have been told the place has been sold.
