I photographed these tangled branches of a Cedar tree as they dip into Cameron Lake which is at the edge of MacMillan Provincial Park on Vancouver Island this past October. The park includes Cathedral Grove which features an impressive stand of old growth Douglas fire trees some more than 800 years old, within walking distance of Highway 4. The picture was made with a Ebony 4 x 5 view camera and a 120mm lens.

There are several aspects in this image that I do enjoy very much: the strong diagonals are obvious, but they are reinforced in the reflection, the backlight situation that emphasizes gestalt and sculptures the fine structure of the leaves (don't know if cedars have leaves or needles) and finally the intricate detail in the bright parts of the image. Looking at the small version the bright upper left corner was a bit destracting, in the large image the fine detail here remedies this impression. Certainly an image that I'd love to see as a large print.
