The Remains Of An Underwater Forest

This is Kelp, a kind of large brown seaweed that can grow to a very long length and forms a kind of underwater "forest" which makes a nice home for sea creatures. This image of kelp which I made with my 4 x 5 view camera and a 120mm lens was washed up on the shore of Albert Head Lagoon, Vancouver Island.
