The Pesuta Shipwreck

Here is an image of the Pesuta Shipwreck on the Queen Charlotte Islands that I made in September of 1993. The Pesuta was under tow by the tug Imbrecaria in Hecate Strait and was struck by a heavy south east gale on December 11th, 1928, all that remains of this 2000 ton craft is the bow section which is loacted just north of the Tlell River of Graham Island. This picture was part of my current show on at Sooke Harbour House and sold on my opening day which made me happy. The picture was made with a Tachihara view camera and a 120mm lens, T-Max 100 film, I believe I used some filtration, I think a #15 yellow filter.

Nature's Delicate Balance

This is a photograph which is one of my featured images currently on display as part of "The Nature of Photography" show at Sooke Harbour House for the month of May. The ice and snow encrusted Powers Creek was not far from the door steps of my West Kelowna home that I made in March of 2003. I envisioned the picture while on a snowshoe walk in the area and and noticed the twisted shapes of the winter-bare creek side bushes made for a pleasing composition against the white snow. I was able to set up my 4 x 5 view camera just off the trail with a downward perspective, I used my trusty 120mm lens to expose the Tri-x sheet film.

Metchosin Mosaic

This is an image of frost covered leaves that I made while walking along the Galloping Goose Trail in Metchosin a few years ago on a frosty morning in January. This image is one of several being featured at my art show at Sooke Harbour House on Vancouver Island during the month of May.
